Pedavena & surroundings

From Colinia di Norcen you can see a wonderful view of Pedavena and Feltre and towards the mountains of the Valley of Piave and the historic mass of Grappa. On both sides you can see verdant hills and the fantastic and majestic Dolomites.

Salvadori wrote: "Wherever your eyes wonder there is a show of beauty made of contrasts, a show that even the young guests love and that their eyes full of tenderness and pity can enjoy".

Colonia Alpina is located in an open environment, dominated by pastures along the border of the Dolomite National Park of Belluno. From a chromatic point of view you can enjoy the pleasant colour contrast between the reforestation of spruce and deciduous formations with hornbeam, maple and ash.

Pedavena is a tourist centre 3 km north from the town of Feltre. The historical events are no different then those of Feltre, for several centuries, the merits of the position at the foot of the mountains, were a place of gathering and processing of wood of which there are still traces. In relation to the economic aspect and the delightful places mentioned above, rich and noble families built their residence in the hills of Pedavena Feltre (and in the nearby hills of Cart), building manor houses and stately mansions. There was a lively cultural and social life here in the 1600 and 1700s that attracted the Venetian and local nobility.
